| Dr. Jonathan Kaufman, DVM -
Practice owner
Dr. Jonathan Kaufman has
been the proud owner of Eastern Animal Hospital for over
14 years. Dr. Kaufman received his undergraduate
education from both the University of Maryland and the
University of Florida. Then he received his Doctorate in
Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from the University of Florida
in 1987. His areas of concentration are in small animal
and exotic medicine and surgery.
After graduation, Dr. Kaufman returned to Baltimore,
his home, to practice small animal and exotic medicine.
In 1990, he purchased Eastern Animal Hospital and within
a short time had increased the doctors and staff,
expanded the hours of operation and offered a wide
variety of veterinary services. In 1998, he rebuilt and
modernized the veterinary facility and now offers the
benefits of a state-of-the-art hospital to clients. Dr.
Kaufman performs many advanced techniques such as
orthopedic surgery, minimally invasive procedures,
advanced dental care, and laser surgery.
Dr. Kaufman continues to be a supporting member of
the East Baltimore communities. For the past few years
he has provided Maryland Animal Advocates free
veterinary care for hundreds of feral cats that they
rescue. In addition, Eastern Animal Hospital is a
sponsor of the new Canton Dog Park and the local SPCA.
Dr. Kaufman is a member of numerous veterinary
associations.
Dr. Kaufman enjoys reading novels, automobiles,
weight training and family activities with his wife and
two daughters.

Dr. Estelle C.L. Ward,
DVM
Dr. Ward received her
undergraduate degree in Classics from the University of
Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. In 1988 she
received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) from
the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary
Medicine. Dr. Ward practiced in upstate New York for
eight years prior to joining the staff of Eastern Animal
Hospital.
Dr. Ward's primary interests in veterinary medicine
are preventive care and internal medicine. She is
devoted to the companion animal-human bond and loves
working with pet owners to help their beloved pet
friends. Dr. Ward also has a special interest in dental
radiology and dental surgery. She has been a member of
The Maryland SPCA board of directors for two years. She
is the Board of Directors' veterinary consultant and is
a member of the shelter operations committee. Dr. Ward
is also a member of the American Veterinary Medicine
Association.
When she is not seeing patients at Eastern Animal
Hospital, Dr. Ward is an avid runner; she loves road
races and has run the NYC Marathon. Dr. Ward is
passionate about classical music, antiques, walking her
dogs, reading and art. Her husband, Jeffrey, is also a
veterinarian. They have a son, Joshua, who has already
expressed a desire to be a veterinarian.

Dr. Susan Warner-Jones,
DVM
Dr. Warner-Jones received
her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ohio State
University, where she received extensive training in
companion animal and equine medicine. Dr. Warner-Jones
served on the equine trauma team at the 1997 Kentucky
Derby. She joined Eastern Animal Hospital in
1999.
Dr. Warner-Jones exemplifies the Eastern Animal
Hospital approach of ‘treating the whole patient' in
complex medical cases. She routinely helps pets with a
wide variety of surgical and internal medicine problems
including:

Besides performing surgery and practicing internal
medicine, Dr. Warner-Jones offers counseling to clients
on selecting an appropriate pet, pet behavior issues,
and helping pets successfully lose weight. In addition
to treating cats and dogs Dr. Warner-Jones treats other
small mammals such as rabbits, rodents, ferrets and
guinea pigs.
Dr. Warner-Jones' interests include knitting and
gardening, as well as spending quality time with her
husband and two children.

Dr. Nancy Kauder, VMD
Dr. Kauder is a graduate
of the University Of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary
Medicine. She received her undergraduate degree in
Biology from Columbia University in New York City. She
has been practicing veterinary medicine at Eastern
Animal Hospital since 1999.
Dr. Kauder's interests within veterinary medicine
include dermatology, animal behavior, and shelter
medicine. Currently, she serves as a medical advisor to
the Maryland SPCA in addition to her work at Eastern
Animal Hospital. Dr. Kauder is a member of the American
Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Kauder lives in Baltimore with her husband,
daughter, son, two cats and a dog. She is an avid reader
and also enjoys trips to New York and Washington to see
ballet and theater.

Dr. Jamie Molinelli,
DVM
Dr Molinelli graduated
from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor of
Science degree. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary
Medicine from Virgina-Maryland Regional College of
Veterinary Medicine in 1986. Her first veterinary
position was in a mixed animal practice in rural
Pennsylvania. In 1989 she began a 12-year career in
veterinary emergency and critical care medicine. She was
the senior veterinarian on staff at the Animal Emergency
Center until 2001. Dr. Molinelli completed a course in
veterinary acupuncture from the Chi Institute in
September 2002. Dr. Molinelli's goal is to integrate
both Western and Eastern medicine in her daily practice
life.

Dr. Molinelli lives in the Essex area with her

Dr. Elizabeth A. Berliner,
DVM
Originally from upstate New York, Dr.
Elizabeth Berliner earned an undergraduate degree in
English Literature from Union College and a Master of
Arts in English from Binghamton University. While
teaching at a Washington, DC charter school for at-risk
youth, Dr. Berliner discovered veterinary medicine
through her volunteer work at the local animal shelter.
After several years and many, many science classes, she
returned to school to graduate from the Cornell
University College of Veterinary Medicine with a
Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM).
Dr.
Berliner's professional interests include internal
medicine, oncology, and soft tissue surgery. She is a
member of the Maryland Veterinary Medical Association
and the American Veterinary Medical Association. She
embraces Eastern Animal Hospital's commitment to
providing the highest quality medicine, complete
diagnostic work-ups, and compassionate patient care. She
truly enjoys working with pet owners to provide the best
care possible for their companions, throughout all
stages of their lives.
When not working, Dr.
Berliner can be found consuming too much caffeine in
local coffee shops, hiking trails in the Baltimore area,
watching movies at the Charles Theater, and standing on
her head at Midtown Yoga. She lives in Baltimore City
with her husband, two bad dogs, and two geriatric cats
who are undoubtedly occupying her pillow at this very
moment. |

Dr. Katie Dudley, DVM
Dr. Dudley is a 2003 graduate of the
University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine.
She is a recent transplant to Baltimore and lives in the
Patterson Park neighborhood. Dr. Dudley's professional
interests include dermatology, feline medicine, and
client education.
In her free time she enjoys long walks in the park
with her geriatric Lab, Lucky. She also enjoys reading
and watching movies. At home she also has 2 cats, 2 fish
and a boyfriend, Jared, who is studying to be a medical
illustrator.

Elianne Amstalden, DVM
Dr. Elianne Amstalden received her degree in
biology at New York University before pursuing her dream
of becoming a veterinarian. She received her doctorate
of veterinary medicine at Ross University. After
completing her senior year at Purdue University she
returned home to Long Island, NY. In 2007, after 6 years
of practicing small animal medicine in NY, Dr. Amstalden
decided to move to Maryland and join the team at Eastern
Animal Hospital.
Dr. Amstalden strongly believes
that it is of utmost importance that clients are
educated about their pet's health and that they
understand and prevent medical problems. She is also
very enthusiastic about dermatology, ophthalmology,
nutrition, behavior and soft tissue surgery.
In
her free time Dr. Amstalden likes to go hiking with her
husband and two dogs. Now that she has moved to Maryland
she will resume agility training with her mutt Daphie
and start biking with her husband. She also enjoys
Broadway shows, cooking, reading and seeing
karaoke.
