Dr. Francesca Frere grew up in Ellicott City, Maryland before attending The University of Tampa. She received her B.S. in Biology, as well as minors in Mathematics and Chemistry.
After graduating, Dr. Frere worked full time as a technician before attending veterinary school at Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. During veterinary school, Dr. Frere discovered her passion for pathology while working in a virology laboratory on campus where she studied Usutu and West Nile Virus, among others.
Her areas of interest include clinical pathology, internal medicine, and soft tissue surgery. She also completed additional training to become Fear Free Certified because she believes that her patient’s emotional wellbeing is just as important as their physical wellbeing. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Frere shares her life with her fiance and Australian Shepherd named Clark. She enjoys hiking, bike riding, baking, and playing board games in her free time.
